Questions to Ask Before Booking a Test Drive

A test drive is useful only if the vehicle is already close to the right fit.

Before booking, ask enough questions to avoid wasting time on the wrong car. You want to understand condition, history, price, finance fit, and the next step before you show up.

Ask about history

Ask whether there are accidents, claims, prior commercial use, odometer questions, or major repairs that should be reviewed before purchase.

Ask about condition

Ask about tires, brakes, warning lights, windshield, body damage, interior wear, and whether anything still needs reconditioning.

Ask about the written price

Ask for the full written price and what is excluded. If there is a trade-in or finance path, ask how those numbers will be reviewed.

Ask what to bring
